This is already implemented. Under downloads (i do not know if it is dev only) there is a plugin. I use wasabi currently on all sites!

One Downside if Wasabi - there is a minimal time you need to pay for uploaded files which is 90 days, regardless if you delete the file earlier. So if you have a 30 Day rotation you pay for another 60 days. I currently try out Backblaze as a replacement (running with the AIO S3 as well)
