Allow domains to be added with www only

Currently only the root domain can be added, but this is problematic for a WaaS because the preferred method of mapping domains is to use CNAME so it follows the domain rather than being tied to an IP address. I'm using WP Ultimo, and if I point only the www CNAME for a domain to my site and add the domain in WP Ultimo with www (which is required for it to work), the domain does not get added to GridPane, and also the SSL won't get created.
I understand there are situations where this setup makes sense, but it would be great to have a toggle to change this behavior and allow domains to be added with only the www and not the root domain.
