After a chat with Jeff the other day I think Gridpane should have proper Forums instead of or in addition to the Facebook group. Real forums offer idependence and are better in many ways. They could help bring documentation forward quicker with the help of users. Even this feature voting could be integrated into forums and be more visible.
Discourse is a great, free and open software to enable this. I'd love to spend some time there and connect with others.

What about a Slack or Discord?

A good old fashioned forum would be great! Appoint admins and moderators who want to help the community!

I think you all should create a community using something like BuddyBoss. There are so many features there.

I don't see the benefits of a forum most people won't visit (including myself)...
I would not create an account on there.

"Most people won't visit"? How do you know?

i would say he is kind of right. forums are the dinosaurs of internet. well - they have a use - but i feel they are outdated

Discourse is great, in use that for a few projects here and there.

I do find this a great idea, maybe it's also a better way for GridPane to communicate on status of upcoming features and what we can expect.

A forum would definitely help there too. With most modern forum software you get a chance to subscribe to forums and thread flexibly so you could easily get email updates on something like a roadmap subforum when new threads or posts are made there.
