LocalWP Integration

I don't know what needs to happen to make this possible, but I did submit the form on the LocalWP website requesting that they integrate with Gridpane. Using LocalWP is easy for me and works pretty well, though I know it can get buggy for larger sites. It has significantly streamlined my workflow, but it would be even easier with direct integration. Thanks!

export / import - or do i miss a point?

With the LocalWP app I can push/pull an entire site on my desktop computer with a single click. No installing a migration plugin, no WP CLI, no complication. It is my preferred local option because I also don't need to manage/install WAMP. It's all packaged in one application. Super convenient and easy. I would like to do that with Gridpane: do a redesign locally, push up to canary, test, deploy. This is what I do with client sites on Flywheel and WP Engine already, and for Gridpane I use the all-in-one migration plugin from LocalWP to the server, but this would make it much faster and far more convenient.

I do understand that - but why not just use staging.domain? I would prefer to not clutter up gp with stuff like that. I can see too much work going into stuff that benefits only a smal amount of customers

That's what I used to do. A local site responds much faster than a web-based site, so it's much nicer to work that way.

I'm not worried about cluttering anything. If there is demand they'll consider it, if there isn't they won't. That's why there is an upvote system (to gauge demand). Take it or leave it.
