I think GP should come up with a WordPress helper plugin for their platform.
It could start with a mu-plugin as the first payload for any new sites created on the GP platform. The mu-plugin would advise you to install an additional GP through a simple nag that you can dismiss forever. You would still have a "GridPane" option under the "Tools" menu in WordPress.
The actual GridPane Helper plugin wouldn't be in the WordPress directory but is privately hosted by GP. Once installed, the helper plugin can provide recommendations, and hopefully start detecting common issues. It could also provide a means to pull from the GP knowledge base in some way. There could also be a whole support submission process, included (I know Patrick might not like this, but it'll save time). The possibilities are endless.
